Henry Candy has a great record here, and NORTH CAPE can follow up an apprentice handicap success last time out, but Ghufa and Peintre d'Argent should be considered too, although in truth it's a wide open event. North Cape won a shade cosily despite having got warm before his last race early in the month. When challenged late on he showed a good attitude for a duel and duly rewarded supporters. He's only gone up three pounds for that, but has a handy claimer on board. Ghufa has an excellent strike rate, but is due a win. He can at least usually be relied on for each way money, only missing the frame once in his last eight outings. Peintre d'Argent is the only filly here, and gets a chunk of weight from some but some from all, and has been a revelation since moving to Willie Knight's yard last year after previously showing little; three wins in seven after previously nought from eight tells its own story. Spensley's not been seen in public since winning at Leicester in October and support could be encouraging, but preference is for North Cape.
