AMENDS is given the chance to make amends in a race where Kipchak has sound claims and Clearing House could also show up well. The selection is lightly raced and comes in to this contest on the back of a poor run at Epsom but he did run well behind a progressive performer at this track on his penultimate start and holds leading claims on that run. His run at Epsom came in a far stronger race than this and he reportedly failed to handle the track on that occasion so is well worth another chance. Kipchak is a far more experienced campaigner and looks guaranteed to run his race as he's well enough handicapped despite his recent win but he has been an infrequent winner on turf over the years. Clearing House ran well on his penultimate start and it may be worth forgiving the maiden his run at Sandown as he found himself short of room in a rough race and he could fare better here but preference is for Amends.
