Piri Piri is a model of consistency and having run well here before can win this ahead of Lilli Marlane and old favourite Missile Toe. The selection has shaped as though this step up in trip will suit in recent races at Pontefract and Doncaster and with her trainer's horses running above themselves at present she has a fine chance of recording her first turf victory. Frankie Dettori is an interesting jockey for Missile Toe. He has ridden this old stager only once before and that was in in 1996! The horse is in good heart at present and ran well last time out but has never won off such a high mark. Lilli Marlane has been steadily improving all season and may give the selection most to do. Her recent win at Nottingham reads well in the context of this race and although beaten next time out at the same track she put up a better performance than when she won. However, it is Piri Piri who is the one to be on.
