Southern Mistral is suggested here although if market support were not forthcoming then Mexican Venture would be a reasonable alternative. The selection is having his first run for Michael Wigham who has enjoyed plenty of success with cast-offs from other yards in recent seasons. The market is usually the best pointer to their chances though and he should be monitored for support. His form in maidens for Willie Haggas last year suggests that he could be on a decent mark and he has the right man in the saddle if he's ready to fire. Mexican Venture probably has enough weight for what he's achieved but is sure to be popular with Dettori taking over in the saddle and it would be no great surprise if he were capable of better still. He is closely matched with Sir Billy Nick but was a shade unlucky last time and should be in the mix today. Game Park, Avertis and Rescue Me are three others that take our eye in an open race but they could all be running for cover if the money arrives for our selection, Southern Mistral.
