Epaminondas boasts the best form in what should prove an informative contest while newcomers of interest include Bayhirr, Caledonian and Power Strike. The Richard Hannon-trained Epaminondas has shown that he is progressing along the right lines when fifth in a hot Newbury maiden last week and will appreciate the extra furlong so sets the standard. Michael Arias has a strong crop of juveniles and Bayhirr, an impeccably bred son of Selkirk out of a French 1,000 Guineas winner, could easily prove capable of scoring at the first time of asking. Caledonian represents a stable that struck with the highly regarded Salford City in similar company last weekend and has to be respected while Power Strike also makes plenty of appeal on breeding and is another to note in the market.
