      Verdict

Bal De Rio had been placed five times over hurdles before coming here and scoring over the trip. He only won narrowly and a 7lb rise looks a bit harsh. Archibelle gained her first ever victory over the course and distance in February though that was a lower-grade event and she's up 4lb and 2lb out of the handicap. Chebsey Beau was in excellent form last summer, scoring over fences then twice on the Flat though he hasn't run since October. HEDIDDODINTHE had given notice of an imminent victory when runner-up here and at Dundalk but few could have predicted an astonishing 18-length success over the track and trip last month. Not surprisingly he's up a massive 16lb but hasn't had much racing and has more to offer. Italian Riviera has a tremendous strike-rate on the Flat and over hurdles and can never be ruled out at this level.
