In depth

Verdict

Pirouetting gets a tentative vote in division one of the maiden, with Rose Lady, Lindenburgh Way and Greek Renaissance just a few more to consider. This is a guessing game to some extent, as fitness will have to be taken on trust, and so with Pirouetting one of those to have had a recent outing, she gets the vote. The Barry Hills-trained filly did well to finish as close as she did in third on her Newmarket return, having had to make her own running on the stands' rail. There were some decent animals in that contest, and this daughter of Pivotal should make a bold bid with ground to suit. Mick Channon's team have not been in great form just of late, but Rose Lady may benefit from this drop back in trip after fading over a mile on her Nottingham bow. Lindenburgh Way caught the eye in similar ground conditions when fourth behind a stablemate here last October, and along with Greek Renaissance, can boast an educational outing at least. Bosset and Royal Oath are both sure to have been well galloped, and it would be no surprise if either had a say in proceedings, but Pirouetting can put her experience to good use to just shade it.
