Pearly King can complete a hat-trick at the expense of High Command, Royal Amnesty and Numeric in a competitive handicap. Competitive it might be, but there is no doubting that Pearly King has been impressive on both starts to date this term, at Yarmouth and Redcar. He has only been raised 3lb for his latest success, and although an entry in the Irish Derby may be a bit optimistic, Sir Michael Stoute's charge should almost certainly be capable of improving enough to run up a sequence in decent handicap company. High Command appreciated the step up to today's trip when battling home against Soapy Danger at Leicester, and this highly-rated individual can give the selection most to do. Royal Amnesty has been in terrific form on the all-weather but this is a big leap of faith. Nevertheless he is fitter than most so could make the frame at least, while Chester winner Numeric has scope and is being aimed at the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot. He might find today's conditions a bit testing but is one to keep on the right side of. For the winner though, it has to be Pearly King.
