Quite a demanding little puzzle but the signs point to ARCTIC COSMOS who is just preferred to Caucus and Berling in an open race. The selection showed ability on two starts over a mile at the backend of last season and duly confirmed that promise with a ready success on his seasonal return over an extended nine furlongs at Wolverhampton. There are mixed messages from the form but he was a very impressive winner and he will need to go close to winning this from a mark of 78 if his entry in a Group 2 next month doesn't prove to be fanciful. Red Courtier looked in need of the run when finishing a close-up fifth in a competitive handicap at the Guineas meeting and it would be no surprise to see him take a hand in the finish here whilst Caucus appeals as a certain improver now handicapping over middle distances and should be monitored in the market. Berling's third to Ted Spread in a Goodwood maiden looks a fair effort now and the form of his handicap win at Folkestone is rock solid whilst Huff And Puff and Activate are amongst others sure to attract support but we'll look to Arctic Cosmos to lead them home.
