Verdict

Mick Channon and Richard Hannon have dominated this contest and both are well represented with marginal preference for GOLDEN SHINE ahead of Inagh River and The Sydney Arms. Mick Channon's filly faces no easy task under a 7lb penalty but she shaped well on debut at Newmarket in a maiden won by a filly of Richard Hannon's with Phoebs back in fifth. Her Warwick win told us little and the form of her debut hasn't exactly worked out brilliantly at this stage but a number of those around Golden Shine have run respectably in defeat whilst Phoebs went on to win at Lingfield were she was good value for the winning margin and merits respect. Richard Hannon also saddled the second home in that race so he should have a strong idea of where he stands with his pair. Richard Hughes prefers Inagh River who impressed at Nottingham having shown little on debut whilst The Sydney Arms is better than she was able to show at Salisbury having won cosily at the first time of asking. There have been winning newcomers in recent years and a market check's advised, particularly in relation to Silent Fright who made 400,000 US dollars in March, but we'll opt for Golden Shine.
