FINSBURY is given the tentative vote to land the finale, while both Ancient Cross and Fathey will pose as the main dangers. The selection has not won since August of last year but has run well in defeat this season and was not beaten far at Redcar last time out when fourth of 19. He has the chance of running off a mark that he is more than capable of winning off and if at his best he is sure to go close. Top weight Ancient Cross has been catching the eye of late and doesn't know how to run a bad race. The problem is that he is still a maiden after 20 attempts and for that reason he has to be treated with caution. Fathey ran well on a number of occasions during the summer but his form has gone downhill rapidly of late and a rest looks in order for Richard Faheys' gelding. Finsbury has the best form on offer and looks the percentage call.
