Verdict

PATAVIUM is the form pick to land this handicap with both Grandad Bill and Sphere worthy of a mention. The selection has won two of his last three races and as a consequence he has risen quite significantly in the weights. He has now gone up eight pounds in the ratings since his latest win at Beverley but he still looks more than capable of being competitive. He had previously proven himself as a decent handicapper over hurdles and with luck in running he can continue to improve on the level. Grandad Bill carries as six pound penalty for his latest success at York. He has been ultra consistent this summer and connections are keen to take advantage of what could be a lenient handicap mark and for that reason any market moves should be noted. Sphere is still winless in 14 attempts but he has continued to run well in defeat over the past three months. He looks well handicapped on his best form and has potential each way claims. Patavium is on the upgrade and is given the vote to win again.
