GRAND DIAMOND can land the opener at the main expense of Ms Sophie Eleanor and Optical Illusion. Jim Goldie has his string in good form at present and Grand Diamond can add to his recent winning tally. He has won over the course and distance and he was only narrowly beaten by Social Rhythm over 1m here last time out. Ms Sophie Eleanor looks the big danger as she is a lightly-raced filly and she shaped with plenty of promise on her handicap debut over 7f here last month. There should be more to come and she has to be respected. Optical Illusion ran with great credit over this course and distance last time and a reproduction of that effort would give him a big chance, but he is infuriatingly inconsistent and on that basis he is taken on. Nufoudh was a narrow scorer at Catterick last time and he has won over the course and distance so he should also be thereabouts come the finish. However, Grand Diamond showed enough last time to make him the one to beat today.
