FILWA sets the standard and is given the nod here ahead of Merchant Of Medici. Brian Meehan's Invincible Spirit filly was well-fancied last time out at Bath but never looked like over-hauling the impressive winner Art Scholar. She is officially rated 75 and the feeling is that if she reproduces her second to Emirates Hills at Windsor in August then she should go close. Merchant Of Medici hasn't been seen since a gallant third on debut at Goodwood. The winner of that race Extension has since gone on to Group-race glory and if all is well after his break then he must be a big danger. Admiral Cochrane improved from first to second runs and cannot be overlooked if continuing on an upward curve, Bathwick Gold made his debut in a hot race but looks one for the future, whilst support for Sidney Melbourne would look interesting on debut. Yawary has been exposed as modest, Cookie Galore shaped with promise on debut at Redcar when 50/1, whilst Rosilant will be handicapped after this start and is opposable. A race that looks eminently winnable, and it can go the way of Filwa.
