Ahlawy is consistent in this company however his best efforts have come on the all-weather and so he is passed over in favour of BUDDHIST MONK who got things done at Brighton last time out with the minimum of fuss. The selection is rated 80 and is not badly treated at the weights today. It is interesting that connections swap the cheek-pieces that worked last time for a visor this afternoon, however if it helps to keep him concentrated then he should be hard to beat. Quince is a course and distance winner who should have no problem with this quicker ground. He was seventh in the classy York claimer won by Middlemarch and he holds Traphalgar on that run who re-opposes today on 1lb worse terms. Ahlawy has ability but he has a much better record on the all-weather, World Time needs watching in the betting as he tries a visor for the first time, whilst Location and Bounty Reed have plenty to find on the ratings but claimers are not always that straightforward. Buddhist Monk is no saint but he can prevail again.
