A tough maiden to open the card and from a shortlist of CUTHBERT, Logos Astra and Chairman Pat we will side with Cuthbert. The selection was a close second behind Silver Grey at Epsom last time out and he is clearly a colt on the upgrade. This is only his third run so there should be more to come and he sets the standard for the others. Logos Astra could be the main danger as he stayed on with plenty of promise on his debut when fourth behind Dreamspeed. He ran green that day so he is entitled to come on for the experience and he is another to enter calculations. Chairman Pat finished in mid-division at Kempton last time over 7f and he does give the impression that he could be suited by a longer trip. Tom Dascombe's string are not exactly firing on all cylinders at present either which would be a slight cause for concern. The Richard Hannon-trained newcomer Cumulus Nimbus is another to consider on his racecourse bow and a market check is advised. We are happy to stick with Cuthbert who looks the one to beat.
