In depth

Verdict

In-form Walter Swinburn can have another winner here with Rezzago who has Effective, Riquewihr and Simpsons Mount to worry about. Rezzago overcame a poor draw when getting up to score at Wolverhampton eight days ago, and this lightly-raced five-year-old who missed out the whole of 2004, is open to a lot more improvement. He can still go up a few pounds, and has the most scope here. Granted Effective has been in great form, having reeled off a hat-trick of successes at Goodwood, Leicester and Carlisle, and is still well treated despite those efforts. He can give the selection most to do, along with Riquewihr who beat the consistent Linda Green at Bath on his last start. Simpsons Mount has plenty of weight but nearly got up to beat Millinsky at Folkestone just two days ago, and if suitably recovered, can go close to gaining another course and distance victory. However, Rezzago is out to make up for lost time and can land the finale.
