In depth

Verdict

Flor Y Nata is selected ahead of Tent, with Ocean Pride and Close To You the other leading leading contenders. Flor Y Nata absolutely bolted up at Wolverhampton 12 days ago, leaving the impression that there is a lot more to come from Sir Mark Prescott's filly. She led on the bit two furlongs out, and was good value for her two length defeat of Just Observing, and it is hard to escape her claims here. Tent was up against it in the Coventry Stakes, finishing down the field in 11th place, but Jamie Osborne's charge looked the part when winning over six furlongs at Brighton, and is worth a try over today's trip. He can give the selection most to do along with Ocean Pride, although the suspicion is that he will find conditions plenty fast enough here, having won on rain-softened ground at Chepstow earlier in the season. On a line through Mister Benedictine, Close To You has it to do with Tent, but nevertheless should make his presence felt as well. For the winner we prefer Flor Y Nata.
