Texas Gold gets the vote over Bond City, with Forever Phoenix and Sumora expected to make their presence felt as well. This meeting has been transferred from Ascot, and that is good news for supporters of Texas Gold who has a good record on this sharp track. William Muir's seven-year-old has been successful six times here so far, and can make it seventh heaven now that he appears to be coming to hand. On his latest outing at Sandown eight days ago, he hit the front with a furlong to go but was grabbed close home by The Jobber. Only upped a pound since, he should go one better here. Bond City boasts an unbeaten record on the all-weather, having won at Wolverhampton and here in the past, and showed his well being when scoring at Newmarket three weeks ago. He is sure to be a live danger to the selection, but will find his older opponent a tough one to master. Forever Phoenix is also a course and distance winner, and having finished second to Kind in Listed company at Nottingham, should hold Sumora at least. Texas Gold is coming right though, and is the one to beat.
