A wide open contest gets proceedings underway and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be The Old Soldier, Premier Prospect and Linden's Lady and the vote is given to The Old Soldier. The selection won well last time out when beating Linden's Lady. Granted that rival is weighted to gain revenge here but the selection did not have the run of the race on that occasion and if he gets a clear run here he is taken to defy the handicapper under conditions that suit. Premier Prospect rates the main danger on his latest second behind Wainwright but that form has since been let down and for that reason he is opposed. Linden;s Lady is sure to have her supporters and has definite place claims on these terms. Victoria Park is another last time out winner who could go well as he won well last time out when beating Crystal Magic but he has a penalty for that win and that may just find him out. Of the remainder Ableard was a fair third last time out and hails from a yard in form, he is another that has conditions to suit and could run well at a price but for the winner we return to The Old Soldier.
