Verdict

Favourites do not have the best of records in this race but the vote here goes to the likely market leader SONORAN SANDS, while Lady Morganna and Colorado Gold can go well. The selection was out of his depth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last week, but the return to this trip looks a positive, and there is nothing of the calibre of opposition that he faced that day lining up tonight. Stan Moore has been among the winners lately and with Fallon up we will side with his charge. Lady Morganna is another who will probably prefer reverting to this distance after perhaps finding 7f too far at Beverley last time. Conditions should suit and her chance is respected. Colorado Gold has shown his best form so far over the minimum trip and on good ground, so he has a bit to prove on both counts in this race, although his efforts so far mark him out as a likely contender. Mimi's Princess looked plenty green enough at Ripon and needs to show rapid improvement, and newcomer Rylee Mooch, related to juvenile winners over this trip, may prove a better bet. Sonoran Sands is given another chance to break his duck.
