SANTEFISIO is narrowly preferred here to Perfect Silence and Truism in a competitive opener. Peter Makin's gelding ran well here last time out when second to My Kingdom and he looks to be a slightly stronger horse than last year. This progressive son of Efisio has a 2lb higher mark to contend with but he should shake it off and Jimmy Fortune knows how to get him to win. Truism is a course and distance winner and he was only a place and 3/4 length behind the selection last time so rates an obvious danger despite his propensity for places rather than wins, although a bigger threat may be Get Carter with the return to this trip in his favour. Woodcote Place is back to a fair mark and may get closer to the selection than last time, Pusey Street Lady is capable but probably has stamina issues over this trip, whilst Titan Triumph is wildly out of form but tremendously well-handicapped as a result. Perfect Silence is a player on her return to action; she was a very solid and dependable performer last year and needs a market check on this comeback. Zero Money was favourite for his Doncaster flop so is far from ignored, however the vote is given to Santefisio.
