Verdict

Three short-priced favourites have won this in four runnings with David Wachman successful in 2005 with Always A Star. The local handler is represented here by PORT ELIZABETH and the fillies' allowance may be enough to see her home though the daughter of Danehill Dancer will need to do better than she showed behind Anadolu at Down Royal to justify her expensive sales price. Machaputu, who was over four lengths adrift that day, can get closer as he was making his debut though a bigger threat may emerge from Beart, who didn't run too badly when totally unfancied behind Emperor Hadrian at Navan.
