Verdict
Some progressive types here including SARRSAR who is preferred to Aattash, New Christmas and Blues Music in a trappy handicap. Michael Jarvis' gelding shaped with promise on debut at Yarmouth before marmalising a field at Lingfield by six lengths. Those in behind may not be any great shakes but the run proved that he has trained on from two to three and he has the scope to improve beyond this opening handicap mark of 84. Cumulo Nimbus is a course and distance winner who wasn't disgraced in the Britannia handicap at Royal Ascot and is respected off this mark of 89, Start Right ran well behind Verdant when last seen at Sandown in April and is considered accordingly, as is New Christmas who seemed to take to the blinkers last time and he remains capable of winning from this mark, especially if we take his Doncaster second to Ransom Note literally. Aattash is up 5lbs for his Bath maiden win and his second to Sea Of Heartbreak reads well, however his re-assessed mark looks too high. Blues Music and Strong Vigilance are both respected after their strong latest runs (especially the latter whose form looks strong), however the vote in an intriguing finale is given to Sarrsar.
