        Verdict

        In a race that may be dominated by newcomers, Fusilier is taken to get the better of Noble Gent, with Primary and Xenophile worth a mention. In a race of this nature, the market will perhaps prove a telling guide, but Fusilier is sure to know his job, and the son of Medicean, a half-brother to Pivotal, has the assistance of Jamie Spencer to help his cause. The well-related Noble Gent, a 400,000gns purchase, is bred to get middle-distances and indeed is entered for the Vodafone Derby, so any support for him would obviously be significant, while any juvenile debutante saddled by David Loder should be taken seriously, so Primary is also on the short-list. John Dunlop's newcomers tend to come on for the run, but the stable was in great form last week, while of those to have raced, Dance Sauvage, slowly away at Haydock, may do better over this extra furlong. In what could turn out to be an informative affair, we return to Fusilier as the answer.
