In depth

Verdict

Foolish Groom can get the better of Peephole and Shrine Mountain in a competitive handicap. Shrine Mountain comes here in good heart after two wins at Southwell and a third in a claimer here last time. This looks tougher however, and he is passed over. After winning a Nottingham seller, Peephole now finds himself with Alan Bailey. He looked quite exposed in this grade before taking advantage of his drop in grade last time, and he too may find this too competitive. Foolish Groom won on similarly fast ground at Haydock last year, and showed signs of a return to form when finishing second at Chepstow. That was an improvement on recent efforts, and although he has only that one win to his credit, he runs off the same mark here, and Foolish Groom can double his winning tally.
