In depth

Verdict

Desert Sea is obviously in good form at present but El Alamein has a 9lb pull with Colin Tinkler's gelding for seven lengths on the form of their running at Lingfield over this trip last time and Sir Mark Prescott's runner is taken to reverse that form with Bariloche rated the best of the remainder. The selection is strictly held by Desert Spa on running last time but he is entitled to improve for what was his first effort over this trip and this track favours those that race up with the pace much more than Lingfield does. John Gosden's Los Cabos has failed to progress as much as may have been anticipated and remains a doubtful stayer, while All The Good has yet to prove his effectiveness over this trip and may struggle to give weight away all round anyway. The lightly raced Bariloche could be of interest back on the flat after a recent spin over hurdles but El Alamein has plenty going for him and he gets the vote.
