In depth

Verdict

Ideally and Sam Lord are interesting newcomers but they will need to be useful to beat those with experience with Cold Quest looking to hold solid claims and being preferred to Black Rock. The last mentioned showed some promise on his Yarmouth debut and is entitled to come on for the run but would need to improve significantly to beat the selection. Traditionalist was well held on his Newbury debut and a bigger threat may come from one of the newcomers. A market move for Mick Channon's Majestic Cheer would be of interest although a more likely type on pedigree would appear to be the Barry Hills-trained Mark Of Esteem colt Ideally. He may want further in time though, while Sam Lord comes from the yard of John Gosden that always has to be respected, especially being a son of the yard's Observatory. Stablemate Cold Quest did everything asked of him when scoring at Leicester first time out though and is taken to follow up here.
