Granston is in the form of his life at present but James Bethell's gelding may now be in the grip of the handicapper and preference in an ultra-competitive handicap is for Banknote, who is marginally preferred to Ans Bach, Waterside and McNairobi. The last mentioned has won her last three starts, all on the all-weather, but another 6lb rise for the latest of those successes may leave Peter Cundell's filly with too much to do. Killena Boy has more to do than when scoring at Sandown last time, while Bee Stinger is likely to find this tougher than the race that he won at Brighton. Ans Bach was good value for his win at Sandown last time and may be ready for the return to this trip now, while Waterside can do little wrong and is another with solid claims. Martin Dwyer takes the ride on Andrew Balding's Kalankari, which looks significant but Franny Norton clearly gets on well with his stablemate Banknote and they are taken to come out on top.
