Reverence was successful the last time he dropped into this grade and he gets the vote ahead of Knot In Wood and Les Arcs. The selection would like the rains to come as he is a much better horse on soft ground but Eric Alston's gelding should be backed as long as there is no firm in the going description. He is a course and distance winner and can carry top-weight to victory. Patavellian returns to the track after a period off the track; he knows how to win but it's been a long time between drinks. Rising Shadow is a capable sprinter but would want some rain, whilst Les Arcs romped home at York recently but that was only in a piece of work between races. He s classy but the July Cup is his target. Knot In Wood represents the shrewd Richard Fahey and he has missed a few engagements recently in favour of this, whilst Advanced and Tombi are tow more for consideration. The three-year-old Bobs Surprise rates a huge danger at these weights; however Reverence can get back to winning ways.
