Jim Goldie's Stellite bounced back to winning ways when successful at Ayr last time and has to be respected but he is probably better over shorter than this trip so a better bet looks to be Linda Perratt's ROYAL STRAIGHT, who gets the vote ahead of stable companion High Resolution. The last mentioned comes into this in good form having won his last two starts, latterly over course and distance, but a 4lb rise for that latest success makes completing a hat-trick no easy matter and he is now 10lbs higher than when scoring here the time before so may be booked for place at best. Richard Guest's Applaude has also won his last two starts, most recently in a seller at Musselburgh, but this is tougher. Mark Johnston's Caracal has slipped to a fair mark and can race off the same mark as when a close second behind Mr Harmoosh at Yarmouth last time so he has to be considered, while Talk of Saafend is usually thereabouts but is likely to again have to settle for minor honours. Zambuka has harshly gone up 8lbs for his win at York last time and a better bet looks to be Linda Perratt's Royal Straight, who has been running consistently well in handicaps in four starts since landing a seller here in June and he can resume winning ways.
