JORDAN'S LIGHT looks capable of following up last week's course and distance success, confirming form with Shifting Gold in the process, although Fossgate and Regent's Secret should have a say in that. Peter Monteith's charge has paid his way under both codes and was winning for the fifth time when scoring by a length last time. A penalty means that Shifting Gold has a theoretical chance of turning around the three and a half length deficit but the winner was good value for the winning margin and remains well enough treated on the pick of his form. Regent's Secret has been given a chance by the handicapper having failed to take advantage of the drop into claiming company; he's not been running too badly and is a regular here so can't be dismissed out of hand. However, stronger claims are held by Fossgate who responded well to blinkers to score impressively at Ripon from a 5lb higher mark. He's raced from far higher marks in the past but needs the blinkers to have the same effect and may also find the ground softer than ideal unless it dries out significantly. A move for Herrera would be of interest but stamina appears to be her strong suit and she did disappoint last time so the claims of Jordan's Light are readily preferred.
