There's a good turnout for the valuable final of this series and MARVO may be able to take the prize back down south by getting the better of Casino Night and Hippolytus. The last two were separated by just a neck over course and distance on the first of the month under similar conditions so have to rate highly although both have revised marks to deal with. Marvo finished down the field on his latest start but that came in a very competitive race at Brighton and this track should suit him better. The run was a little better than it looked whilst there was no disgrace in his previous effort at Sandown; the more testing ground holds no fears for him and his rider's 7lb claim could be invaluable. Mountain Cat has been in fine form but the ground is an issue, Doon Haymer is better than he showed last time but needs to be forgiven that run so Rosko looks to have sounder claims as he's at home on soft ground and brings a progressive profile into the race. Zabeel Tower is handicapped to go well and is running well enough but, crucially, has been struggling to put his head in front whilst Shadowtime and Tanforan have also been going well but the former doesn't win often enough and the latter may not be well enough treated. Talk Of Saafend has gone well here in the past and is well worth bearing in mind with mark and ground to suit whilst Petsas Pleasure and Stateside couldn't confidently be dismissed but Marvo's taken to lift the trophy.
