In depth

Verdict

An open looking three-year-old handicap here and top weight Leptis Magna looks to be the one they all have to beat. He gets the vote, with Common Purpose, Cherie's Dream and Super Cross others to consider. Leptis Magna began the season in good style with a mile success at Windsor and should be even more effecrtive on this faster ground. He looked very much like he could build on that success and follow up. Common Purpose has been running well in defeat and showing steady improvement. John Gosden's gelding gets a handy 3lb from the selection and should beuited by the trip so is respected. Cherie's Dream was a Kempton polytrack winner on her seasonal debut and is stepped up in trip here. She shows plenty of dash and also is bred to get home over a mile so she can again go well. Super Cross looks best of the rest and surely won't be long in winning, but today he may have to give best to Leptis Magna.
