    Verdict

John Dunlop's Lake Kalamalka faces no easy task giving weight away all round in this handicap having disappointed since winning at Bath in April and a safer option looks to be VITA MIA, who gets the vote ahead of Persian Tomcat. Julia Feilden's gelding ran better on Lingfield's Polytrack last time, having failed to handle the testing conditions at Yarmouth the time before and he has to be respected provided that heavy rain does not arrive. Simon Dow's Sumani has run better in his last two starts but has yet to prove that he stays this far and he is probably best watched on his first start over 1m4f. Eve Johnson Houghton's Spinning Waters has been holding his form well of late and has to be considered but it is Vita Mia that gets the vote. David Evans continues to have his team in good form and the daughter of Central Park has an obvious chance off the same mark as when a close second at Brighton over 1m2f last time, especially as he is better over this slightly longer trip.
