    Verdict

LADY PILOT can take this at the principal expense of Tide Slider and Kanad. Jim Best has attempted to nick a few prizes on the flat with this mare but she has proven herself as a more than useful handicapper at this game and in receipt of an allowance; she is some way clear on the figures. Tide Slider has become a regular in plating events. The yard did have a winner last week though this horse does not do a great deal off the bridle. Kanad is dropped in grade. He is much better than his recent form figures suggest though we would have been happier to see him at two miles. Vincenzio has been well held in two similar contests. The softer surface might just be a help. Highway Magic was highly tried in juvenile contests on the flat and makes a belated hurdling debut this afternoon. The remainder should not be good enough on official figures so having considered all the options, Lady Pilot seems the safest play.
