In depth

Verdict

LADY SOUGHTON looks too good for her rivals and is given the vote to land the opener at the expense of It's Brown and National Obsession. The selection has improved with each and every run and ran a personal best after finishing second in a bumper at Ffos Las last month. She has her debut over the obstacles this afternoon and with a clear round she ought to be good enough to break her maiden tag. It's Brown caught the eye after finishing second in a novice hurdle at Towcester on his second career outing. He then disappointed at Uttoxeter on bottomless ground and for that reason should be treated with caution. National Obsession showed real promise in his only bumper at Folkestone only to run well below par on his hurdles debut at Hereford last time out and an improved effort will be required this time around. Lady Soughton has the best recent form on offer and if taking to hurdles she will take all the beating.
