A tremendous renewal of this the final classic of the season and LOOK HERE is taken to add her name to the roll of honour, with Frozen Fire the leading danger. Ralph Beckett's runner must still be considered as one open to improvement given that she has had only three runs to date, winning the Oaks last time in fine style. As a debut winner she can clearly go well when fresh, and being by Hernando she should hopefully have no fears over her ability to handle the cut in the ground. Doncaster is not the stiffest of tracks and so there is plenty of confidence that she will get home over this extra quarter-of-a-mile and she can claim further Classic success. Frozen Fire looks a big threat, although the defection of New Approach on Irish Derby day took a bit of the shine of that success. Even so, the colt could do no more than win his race and he did it in a manner that suggested he'd get every yard of this 1m 6f. Conduit took Goodwood's Group 3 Gordon Stakes in July and meets stiffer opposition here but he wouldn't look out of place in the frame and his pedigree suggests that the ground will be right up his street. The same can be said of stablemate Doctor Fremantle, who finished well ahead of Frozen Fire at Epsom but who has a bit to find with the selection based on their Salisbury running of 11 months ago. Unsung Heroine takes a big step up here but she has done superbly well in both starts so far, should handle conditions and has plenty of stamina in the genes, so it will be very interesting to see how she shapes up in a Group 1 for the first time. Alessandro Volta has a fair bit to find with Frozen Fire, as has Bashkirov, and Great Voltigeur runner up Top Lock may have a better chance than either of picking up some prize money. A seriously good renewal of this grand old race and for 2008 we'll take Look Here to join the greats.
