In depth

Verdict

Chancers Dante, Reverse Swing and Farington Lodge are the three to consider here, and preference is for Chancers Dante. A winner at Newcastle in January, Farington Lodge looked likely to collect on a return visit to the track only to fall at the third from home when leading. He may just have needed his first run for two months when third recently, and can go close here. Heather Dalton's Reverse Swing has won twice at Fakenham during the winter but was recently tried over hurdles where his handicap mark is considerably lower, without success. He returns to chasing here and may once again just have a little too much weight. Chancers Dante is a little inconsistent but his Musselburgh win last time was a game effort and not a complete surprise, as he had hinted at a win with a good effort at Kelso before that. He would probably prefer a slightly faster surface, but in the hope that the ground continues to dry out and that he has benefitted from a break, Chancers Dante is taken to come out on top.
