Bond Boy, Johnston's Diamond and If Paradise are three against the field in a competitive opener and the tentative vote is given to Bond Boy. The selection won well last time when beating Our Fugitive and although having a penalty for that win he again has conditions in his favour and he will be hard to beat. Johnston's Diamond rates the main danger as he also won well last time when beating Raymond's Pride but that horse has since let the form down and he looks opposable on that basis. If Paradise was a fair third behind The Lord last time. That form has since been franked and he has definite place claims but he will do well to give weight and a beating to some less exposed types. Prince Namid was behind the selection last time and although better off at the weights he still has a little to find. Of the remainder Scooby Dude is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is hard to win with and with this in mind for the winner we return to Bond Boy.
