Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Peppertree Lane, Sir Gerard and Baskerville and the tentative vote is give to Sir Gerard. The selection won well last time out when beating Call My Number. He is sure to have come on for the run and with the step up in trip likely to bring about some more improvement he looks a value bet in an open affair. Basker ville rates the main danger as he has won his last two races in good style notably when beating Ingratitude last time out, third looks tougher but he is progressive and he should be noted in the market. Peppertree Lane is another last time out winner that could go well as he beat Anna Pavlova last time but that rival is better off at the weights here and there will be very little between them. Of the remainder Supaseus is another unexposed type that should be noted in the market but in a race where the market will be very informative for the winner we return to the unexposed Sir Gerard.
