Verdict

A trappy affair in which RARE COINCIDENCE receives a very tentative vote at the expense of More Equity and Lily Tara. Roger Fisher's useful dual purpose performer is perhaps a little higher in the handicap than ideal but he has plenty of ability and with a recent pipeopener on the flat under his belt, there is every reason to believe that he can keep this valuable pot in the North West. More Equity won at Hexham after a sizeable absence. Provided that the bounce factor isn't brought into play, she has obvious claims. Lily Tara is far from the most frequent of winners although her supporters will point out that the handicapper has gradually started to release the handbrake. Polly Whitefoot was quietly fancied at Aintree before a couple of sloppy leaps put paid to her challenge. Lugato has to reverse form with More Equity on their Hexham meeting though does have the assistance of Tony McCoy. Mystified is the stable companion of our selection and if the ground is on the fast side, he has to be considered to be something of a player. Many plausible winners of this prize but we are with the class of Rare Coincidence.
