      Verdict

      A good contest which can see OGRE successfully drop back in trip at the primary expense of Roly Boy and Caprio. Richard Hannon lifted this prize last year and he's doubly represented with Brooksby the pick of the weights from Roly Boy. The former has been struggling for form though whereas the latter didn't run too badly when 3 lengths behind the selection at this track last time; that was more encouraging and the drop back in trip may not worry him. It has to be of slight concern for Ogre's supporters as she has never won below a mile but she has plenty of pace and we don't envisage it being a problem; she looks sure to be there or thereabouts at the line. In contrast, Caprio has never won beyond six furlongs but he represents connections who campaign their horses shrewdly and he's dropped markedly in grade. The handicapper has had his measure lately but it could be a different story in this company. Carmenero has been running well enough to rate a mention whilst Resplendent Nova is not without claims if ready after an absence but they may all be running scared of Ogre.
