Oneofapear is certainly interesting but the proven stamina of THE LAST ALZAO gains her the vote; Film Festival, Brouhaha and Overrule complete our shortlist. Richard Fahey's wife takes the ride aboard her husband's filly and she's got a fine record on the horse, unbeaten as they are together. Both of those successes have been over 1m2f but she's won over further on the polytrack and ran a fine race over two miles last time, so while she needs a career-best to defy this mark we feel there's every chance the four-year-old will prove up to the task. The fact that Nina Carberry and Katy Walsh both travel across the Irish Sea for one ride each is intriguing and the former's mount Oneofapear makes appeal. He runs off the same mark as when placed at Ripon and does shape as though he'll stay the trip. Katy Walsh's ride Brouhaha is up 2lbs having tried 1m4f for the first time at Ascot and he seemed to get home fine, although the race was steadily run. This is tougher but he's a factor along with Film Festival, who wasn't beaten far off this mark at Catterick and will relish the ground. His stablemate Overrule makes marginally more appeal on jockey bookings and he ran on from the rear in a strong race at Newmarket's July meeting, while Haljaferia hails from a strong yard and enjoys a stiff finish. Quarante Deux tries turf for the first time and along with Graceful Descent isn't to be discounted, but marginal preference is for The Last Alzao.
