A tough race in which Shifty, Whittingham Village and Taminoula are among the more obvious horses with chances and we will side with Shifty. An enigmatic performer when with Dandy Nicholls - he was only just overhauled over a mile at Southwell last week and as a previous course-and-distance winner, there are plenty of ticks in the right boxes. Whittinghamvillage ran on stoutly to post her best effort for some time at Redcar. A fair sort when with Alan Berry - the market is watched this afternoon. Taminoula has always threatened to win races and while the handicapper is giving her chances off this mark, there has been a long losing run in the interim. Leighton Buzzard was weak in the market on his latest start so the prices are watched on course. The ex-Peter Chapple Hyam runner is now with the in-form Anne Duffield so it would be unsurprising to see him pitching in this race. Airedale Lad was favourite on his most recent start at Nottingham and is likely to try and make all. Thornaby Green's better performances are on a slower surface although off a plater's mark, he looks to have distinct place possibilities. Shifty caught the eye last week and we shall look for compensation on this occasion.
