A fair claimer in which Sawwaah, Le Chiffre and Art Elegant all hold formbook chances and Sawwaah is given the tentative vote. A consistent sort in claiming class, the gelding has been unfortunate enough to fight a losing battle with the handicapper so connections are clearly looking for a confidence boost which can be found here. Le Chiffre jumped hurdles as if he had clogs on and lofty ambitions over hurdles appear to have been abandoned. Once useful when with David Loder, he is lesser exposed than most. Art Elegant should be at his best at this trip although his win record makes depressing reading. The market is nevertheless heeded. Double Ransom won a weak claimer at Hamilton but has a mountain to climb at these conditions. Subsidise clipped heels on his latest start at Redcar although it was too early to say whether he would have been a factor in the contest. Sawwaah is at least proven in recent weeks to be running well and he secures the nod.
