Bollin Franny, Whiskey Junction and Sophie's Dream form the shortlist and our vote goes to Bollin Franny. The Bertolini colt was unfancied ahead of his Thirsk debut but he showed plenty of speed on that day and if David Allan can get a good position from the stalls - he has to take all the beating. Whiskey Junction has had the misfortune of running up against two hotpots in the past. Its not too often that Andrew Balding runs maidens at this track so the market will doubtless price accordingly. Stepaside failed to act on the heavy going at Haydock last time out but could be worthy of another look at this grade. Valbenny is related to a number of milers and might need this first race. Kindlelight Blue hails from a yard that are showing improved form of late and could have each-way claims. At the likely odds, Bollin Franny makes most appeal and we shall nominate him on this occasion.
