Verdict

The Dagger is not a reliable proposition but is given another chance to get his head in front; dangers are likely to include Ledgerwood and Not Now Lewis whilst Sceilin could be interesting at a price. The selection has shown promise on more than one occasion but is clearly far from straightforward whilst fitting him with blinkers hasn't brought about any obvious signs of improvement. He was beaten a long way here last time but that race was over seven furlongs and the step up to this trip should see him in a better light and his experience of the track is in his favour. The first four home in a Yarmouth seller earlier in the month all contest this contest. Ledgerwood led them home that day and he may well be able to come out best of that quartet again. Not Now Lewis didn't run too badly on his turf debut last time and should be able to get involved as should Pab Special. Sceilin never featured on debut for her new yard last time but the step up from six furlongs and the application of a tongue tie could see her in a better light and this former in-mate of Jim Bolger's could go well at a price but we'll nominate The Dagger as the winner of this event.
