Verdict

Mazzola is preferred to Lesley's Choice of those who have raced with Satwa Boy arguably the most interesting of the newcomers. Mick Channon's juveniles are in rude health at present and this cheaply bought colt has shown more than enough on his two starts to suggest that he can win a race of this nature. The form of his debut effort reads well enough in the context of this heat and it was a warm race that he finished last of four in at Goodwood. He handled that track well enough so should have no problems with this venue and he's taken to open his account. Lesley's Choice was backed at big odds on debut and only narrowly lost out to a more experienced rival; he should build on that and has to be feared. Rigged was pulled up in that Warwick race as his jockey lost his irons when his mount swerved badly after the start; he's best watched following that display. Ritzy Wildcat is a major player on the evidence of his two runs and he looks sure to be suited by this slightly longer trip whilst Satwa Boy looks the part on paper and needs a market check. Our vote, in this competitive opener, goes to Mazzola.
