Verdict
Rock 'n' Roller has claims on the pick of his form but Willie Muir's gelding faces no easy task giving weight away all round and preference is for TRIGGER'S FRIEND, who gets the verdict ahead of Tribe. The last mentioned ran much better at Pontefract last time, having taken a drop in the weights, and Paul Webber's gelding would have every chance if able to build on that effort. Compton Falcon has yet to win a race following 12 starts so looks best watched, while The Composer has yet to prove that he stays this far on turf. Inchpast is better than he showed at Pontefract last time and the Mark Tompkins-trained gelding has to be considered but preference is for Trigger's Friend. Jamie Poulton's filly is less exposed than most of these, has already shown a reasonable level of form and she looks worth chancing off her low weight.
